Three of the project developed by Stefano Boeri Architetti in Tirana in the past few years are now under construction.
One of them is Tirana Vertical Forest, the first Vertical Forest in Albania, a residential tower which will contribute to the global project of a progressive Urban Forestation of cities and metropolitan areas of the world. The second one is the Blloku Cube, that is a multifunctional building in the Tirana city centre. The third project is a small residential building placed behind the Albanian Presidency building, as says Francesca Cesa Bianchi, Partner in charge and Project Director of Stefano Boeri Architetti.
The visit on the sites has been guided by the architects involved in the Albanian projects, Carlotta Capobianco, Andrea Zucchi, Federico Panella, Paolo Russo, Agostino Bucci, Jacopo Colatarci.
With the start of work in the first three sites, on May 3rd Stefano Boeri Architetti opened a new studio in Tirana.
The opening – with the presence of the Mayor and Institutions of Tirana – involved young architects and artists in a dialogue on the transformation and the future of the city. In Stefano Boeri‘s idea the studio could be a place for sharing, meeting and discuss about architecture with the local young professionals. The architects Albana Kocollari, Founder of ANK architecture, Guust Selhorst of the Belgian studio 51N4E, the Albanian artists Eltjon Valle and Genti Korini, and the curator Rubin Beqo, executive director of Tulla Culture Centre in Tirana toke part at the conversation.
