The Reconstruction of the Museum of L’Aquila is a place oriented to three historical levels, at the same time: towards the past, the present and the future of the city. A general archive of all materials on the earthquake documentation, a permanent multimedia workshop for collective participation and a social-cultural incubator for the next project on the city. As a plugin of the temporary headquarters of the National Museum of Abruzzo region, MAQRI is the missing link, set in a complete system of objects that together give a concrete shape to this cultural synthesis. Within a frame of continuous duality, from the Fountain of Novantanove Cannelle to this new place for the earthquake memory, the history of L’Aquila restarts from Borgo Rivera, toward and beyond “L’Aquila Capital of Culture 2019”.
