In Caserta there is an invisible space today. A large area surrounded by a wall, which nobody knows about. The area is 33 hectares wide, housing 500,000 cubic meters of barracks, hangars and warehouses for machinery. The aim of the project is to open it up to the city and to improve the area of Macrico, in order to make it one of the largest urban parks in Italy: a site where culture, art and leisure can live together surrounded by trees and lawns. The plan accommodates, within the park, both private (housing, hotels and sport spaces) and public buildings, as the new Town Hall and the MACC, Museum of Contemporary Art of Caserta.
