VTS is a project for the transformation of an area of about 2.70 hectares near Muntiggioni, part of the Municipality of Badesi, on the north-west coast of Sardinia. VTS aims to become a new model of urban transformation centered on the self-sufficiency of the buildings and built around the following objectives:
– To translate the themes of sustainability into a concrete experience, capable of becoming a model for a new approach for territorial transformation and building construction.
– To create a highly contextualized settlement in which each single unit is energetically self-sufficient, while surplus energy produced can be yielded to local public infrastructures. To this end, the project is expected to produce more energy than it consumes, always through the use of renewable energy sources and non-contaminating processes of production.
– To design and build a village that pays special attention to its environmental insertion, by respecting the ecosystems present in the site, without affecting the current natural and landscape equilibria.
