“From the fallen trees in Cadore to the ones that we should plant”, Stefano Boeri Architetti adresses the majority of its research to Urban Forestry, a practice able to tackle Climate Change effects, to contain hydrogeological disruptions and to improve the environmental quality, also by a psychological point of view.
What drives us to promote Forestry practices in which the natural element is central – architectural, urban ones but also cultural and political ones – is that nowadays urban populations produce three-quarters of global pollutants, even occupying just the 3% of the global surface. And accroding to the Architect fighting them in the cities increasing green canopies means tackling the enemy in its own battlefield.
