Bosco Verticale su SkyTg24

SkyTg24 aired a segment in its culture-focused column Insider, featuring a report on the presentation of the book Bosco Verticale, Morphology of a Vertical Forest at the Rizzoli Bookstore in New York. The monograph is a comprehensive volume dedicated to the project, published on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its inauguration.

The segment, which explores the story of the project and its ten-year journey, also includes reflections from Stefano Boeri and Francesca Cesa Bianchi, partners at the architecture firm Stefano Boeri Architetti.

“Ten years marks an important milestone, because the Vertical Forest was an experiment, and just like in scientific research, experiments require time in order to measure their effects, results, reactions, consequences, and eventually to be properly tested. Over these ten years, that’s what we did: we tried to understand what was happening to the trees, the plants, the insects, the birds, and the humans living in this strange ecosystem in Milan,” said Boeri.

“In the past ten years, the firm has developed around 200 projects across Europe, North Africa, China, and South America. About thirteen projects have already been completed, and another fifteen or so are currently in the design phase. In Europe, there’s a lot of work underway in the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. The Vertical Forest in Eindhoven, being social housing, is accessible to everyone—it’s home to young couples, students, and artists. We believe it’s important to ensure that the benefits of living in close contact with nature are not a privilege for the few, but a benefit for all,” said Cesa Bianchi.
