Already known as one of the world’s biggest producers of air pollution, China is developing strategies to counteract this tendency and remedy the damages done to the environment.
As a country with an extremely high rate of urbanization, China needs an effective sollution able to improve the life quality in the cities. Building Vertical Forests around the country can help cleaning up the air, providing a healthier environment both for its residents and the other citizens. In fact, the idea of Stefano Boeri of integrating natural elements in architecture has found fertile ground in China. The studio is developing a pair of Green Towers in Nanjing, nearing completion and a series of projects in Shanghai, Guizhou, Beijing.
