Thursday, March 27, from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the online event Piccoli Centri Storici delle Marche (Small Historic Centers of the Marche) takes place. The event is dedicated to the historic centers of the Marche region and the reconstruction projects following the Central Italy earthquakes (2016–2017), including Arquata del Tronto.
The Municipality of Arquata del Tronto was severely affected by the 2016 earthquake that devastated Central Italy. As part of the reconstruction efforts, the tender for the Pianificazione Attuativa (Implementation Planning) of the reconstruction interventions in the historic center and the urban areas affected by the seismic events was awarded to a consortium composed of Mate Engineering, Stefano Boeri Architetti, MATE Soc. Cooperativa, Nhazca, PRO.GE.77, and D.R.E.Am. Italia.
At 4:10 PM, architect Francesco Nigro presents the reconstruction proposal on behalf of the project team.
The Arquata del Tronto reconstruction project, covering seven districts (Arquata, Capodacqua, Pescara del Tronto, Pretare, Piedilama, Tufo, and Vezzano) across approximately 100 square kilometers, was developed following Guidelines shared with local communities. The project was informed by discussions with local residents to identify issues, challenges, and various intervention scenarios, taking into account the area’s morphology and intended land use.
Participation in the event grants 5 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits.
