Following similar projects in Milan (Italy) and Lausanne (Switzerland) the third prototype will be built in 2018 in the Chinese Nanjing. Vertical forest consists of two towers which can be lived or worked, and features balconies full of trees and plants.
The buildings not only provide greenery in the city, their main purpose is absorbing smog. Every year, the towers imbibe 25 tons of CO2 per day to produce sixty kilograms of oxygen, as Stefano Boeri hopes that they restore the biodiversity in the city.
