Mas Noticias publishes an article titled El diseño biofílico a la conquista de Eindhoven, dedicated to architectural projects that integrate nature into urban environments, including Trudo Vertical Forest, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti as the first application of the vertical forest model to social housing.

Eindhoven, recognized as a European design hub, has been incorporating biophilic design into various buildings and urban spaces for years. The city is also home to the Biophilic Design Academy (BDA), founded in 2023 by designer Lianne Bongers, with the goal of spreading knowledge about nature-integrated architecture and promoting sustainability and well-being.

Within this framework, the Trudo Vertical Forest spans 75 meters in height across its four facades, hosting 135 trees of various species, alongside approximately 5,200 shrubs and smaller plants, for a total of 8,500 plants.

The 19-story building accommodates 125 social housing units, designed with flexibility to adapt to future living needs and setting new residential standards for the sector. Each apartment, measuring under 50 sqm, is compact yet benefits from an expanded living experience through terraces of over 4 sqm, which include one tree and 20 bushes per unit, creating a unique micro-natural environment for its residents.
