After the Vertical Forest in Milan and the first Nanjing Vertical Forest, Stefano Boeri Architetti guided by the architect Stefano Boeri designed the Liuzhou Forest City for the Chinese city of Liuzhou.
The Liuzhou Forest City project, ambitious open sky experiment, aims to fight pollution and climate changes. The urban settlement will be provided with facilities and technologies needed to be an autonomous city, even in the energy field. The presence of 40.000 trees and almost 1 million plants of over 100 species, will allow to absorb almost 10.000 tons of CO2 and 57 tons of pollutants per year and produce 900 tons of oxygen, and will increase the growth of local biodiversity.
Liuzhou Forest City is an example and a model of eco-sustainability and architecture of the future.
