On the weekly magazine Left an article signed by Eva Müller dedicated to the importance of forests, even in the city. In fact FAO as specialized agency of the United Nations that drives the international efforts to defeat hunger, even if is mainly active in the rural world it organized the World Forum on Urban Forests in this last year.
Hunger geographies have changed and also the enitty of environmental problems generated bby cities. So Urban Forestry became a practice in which we should invest resources and energies.
The sum up of the woods, parks, street trees, private gardens and single trees spread around the city contribute with environmental advantages as pollutants’ absorption, noise reduction, mitigation of climate change and reduction of rainfalls’ impact, as well as improving citizens’ health, supporting physical excercise, lowering temperatures and reducing stress levels.
