La Repubblica publishes an interview by Brunella Giovara with Stefano Boeri, in which themes related to architecture, education, and the future of cities are touched upon, starting from personal and family experiences.
The article delves into childhood stories, work, and research developed with the Stefano Boeri Architetti studio, the presidency of a cultural institution such as the Triennale di Milano, the future of the Lombard city itself, and teaching, both the received education and the experience as a professor at the Politecnico di Milano. Also focal is the experience as a dubber, in the role of Archibò, “the architect monkey” who teaches architecture in the Rai Lampadino e Caramella series, the world’s first animated series accessible to everyone thanks to the use of voice narration, subtitles, sign language interpreters (LIS), with animation style tailored to various sensory disabilities and attentive to themes of inclusion and BES (Special Educational Needs).
“At the Triennale, of which I am President, and in my studio, we conduct research as if we were a university department, on projects that sometimes do not have an economic return, in an imbalance towards entrepreneurial risk. We try to anticipate the future, studying, for example, the theme of inequalities. Where will they erupt in the coming decades? In gender rights? In the environmental crisis? In society? I admit that this type of work makes life interesting,” states Stefano Boeri.
