Annarita Briganti reports in an article in La Repubblica on a selection of books, including the volume Bosco Verticale. Morphology of a Vertical Forest¸ edited by Stefano Boeri Architetti and published by Rizzoli.
The Milanese booksellers have selected a series of texts for “all ages and tastes”: from illustrated books to novels and volumes dedicated to Milan. Bosco Verticale. Morphology of a Vertical Forest, selected by Feltrinelli, traces the history of the project with an editorial structure that evokes the growth of a tree with its roots, trunk and branches.
The roots are the intuition of an innovative idea, born of creative and artistic inspiration. The trunk represents the genesis of the project, the structural, technological and environmental challenges, the construction site, the impact of the Vertical Forest on the transformation of the area and the urban landscape. The branches, finally, are the life of the Bosco: on the one hand, its positioning in the context of international architecture, marking a change of path towards the integration of living nature in the urban environment, and on the other, its autonomous path as a symbol and catalyst of biodiversity, also in the collective popular imagination.
By integrating architecture and living nature for the first time in the world, the Vertical Forest will be awarded as the world’s best skyscraper and as a symbol of the 11th World Summit on Sustainable Development.
