On Saturday July 29th, the new Square of Amatrice was officially inaugurated in the presence of authorities and citizens.
The work was accomplished with the design contribution of the architect Stefano Boeri and the operational contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Innova FVG, Filiera del Legno FVG and Domus Gaia. The funds for the populations struck by the earthquake in Central Italy, were raised with “Un Aiuto Subito” by Corriere della Sera and TG La7 through Banca Prossima and the TIM “With You We Do” crowdfunding.
The delivery of the entire structure, composed of a refectory and 8 restaurants, is the tangible proof of the reconstruction and Italians solisarity.
On the occasion of the inauguration, the Minister of Agricultural Policy Maurizio Martina announced: “It’s our intention to nominate the Amatriciana tradition as candidate of Unesco heritage. This is part of objectives of 2018”.
