In Friday June 9th episode of the Casa Italia programme – broadcast on Rai Italia TV channels in North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia – Stefano Boeri is interviewed about vertical cities and the development of high-rise metropolises.
The programme, hosted by Roberta Ammendola, talks about Italian excellence and its great cultural, landscape and production wealth.
Specifically, the episode focuses on new architectural trends and the solutions in the field to overcome the problem of land consumption, such as the Bosco Verticale in Milan, “An example of architecture that integrates nature”.
“Historically, towers are fundamental elements in the history of the European city, first as defensive elements, then reintepreted as public buildings. Today, tall buildings often also have an iconic, identifying character for cities and their profile. But in addition to this, as we have done, for example, in the Bosco Verticale we realised in Eindhoven, the new towers must become places accessible to everyone, where nature plays the leading role,” says Stefano Boeri.
Also speaking with Stefano Boeri are Claudio Pagliara (TG1 New York correspondent) and Paola Dezza (Sole 24 Ore journalist and real estate expert).
