Archdaily features the project for the new Matera FAL Central Station designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti that will connect the fascinating southern centre with the closest city of Bari and in this way with the airport, making it accessible to the rest of the world.
The project will be realized in two phases: the first to be finished within the beginning of 2019 – to welcome all the visitors arriving in occasion of 2019 Matera European Capital of Culture – while the completion of the station building is planned for May 2019. The new transport hub will represent a distinctive element of the urban landscape generating an open and recognizable space.
