In Saudi Arabia the media are paying attention to the Vertical Forest as a model of innovative green architecture. The brainchild of Milanese architect Stefano Boeri, the Bosco Verticale uses more than 20,000 trees and plants to cover the high-rise buildings from top to bottom. Greenery is “an essential component of architecture” (said Boeri) particularly as a weapon to combat climate change. The project now being exported all over the world, from China to the Netherlands.
