At Fuorisalone 2017, five studios of architecture were invited to design five visions redeveloping Milan’s abandoned railways. The projects were exhibited at the station of Porta Genova in an event organized by Sistemi Urbani and Municipality of Milan.
Stefano Boeri Architetti proposed Green River, an urban reforestation project by creating a continuous system of parks, forests and gardens for public use, linked by walkable and cyclable corridors. Buildings are positioned at the end of the green areas, with residences, spaces for study and workshops for youth, cultural and assistance services for citizen, also with social and market building.
