The ForestaMi Milan model – with 3 million trees in the Metropolitan City – is the first step of the Parco Italia plan, a project developed by Stefano Boeri’s team with a research group that includes FAO and other realities such as Sisef, the Italian Society of Forestry and Forest Ecology, which aims to connect cities to the Apennine ridge and the Alpine system through green corridors, creating a large ecological infrastructure that runs throughout the peninsula.
These projects will converge in the works of the #WFUF #MilanoCalling (21-22 November at the Milan Triennale), a session of the World Forum on Urban Forests which will present the main and most advanced Urban Forestry projects on an international scale.
