The Carabinieri Corps is organizing the International Conference “The Forest City” in Rome on May 29 and 30, 2024, focusing on Nature-Based Solutions for a Sustainable Future, which will be attended by Stefano Boeri.
The International Conference “The Forest City” takes place at the Auditorium Biblioteca Nazionale, Viale Castro Pretorio, 105, Rome.
The conference aims to raise awareness of virtuous cases of urban and peri-urban forests in Italy, Europe and the rest of the world.
Urban sprawl increases land consumption and raises exposure to the affects of climate change in tandem. For the world has no shortage of virtuous examples of cities initiating comprehensive projects to redesign the urban environment to cope with the effects of climate change and improve quality of life.
During the conference, the results of the PNRR measure dedicated to ‘Urban, Peri-urban and Extra-urban Forestation in the Metropolitan Cities of Italy’ will also be presented, which in fact promoted and implemented a new model to be adopted in reforestation.
The conference will be spread over two days with symposia and panel discussions. Stefano Boeri is attending the opening lecture “Forests in the City: a new approach for urban and human regeneration” on May 29, 2024.
The talk focuses on the city as a place for experimentation and development in which high-natured green spaces assume a vital and strategic role in urban development policies.
