The documentary Sala 5 – Raphael’s Cartoon Room, a short film made by The Blink Fish (Executive Producer: Paolo Soravia; Shooting and Editing: Stefano Santamato) has been selected at the Sezze Film Festival, which takes place in Sezze (LT), Italy.
The Sezze Film Festival, in its sixth edition, is a film and entertainment event dedicated to short films, feature films, music videos, documentaries and web series. On the final day of the festival, Awards will be dedicated to the best works and their artistic and technical figures for each film genre present.
The installation Raphael’s Cartoon Room in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan is designed and realized by Stefano Boeri Architetti.
The Cartone made by Raphael is the largest ever to have survived (measuring 2.85 meters by 804 centimeters), and arrived at the Ambrosiana in 1610 to return there, after various sales and vicissitudes, only in the 1960s.
The new room, open to the public from March 27, 2019, is conceived to house Raphael’s preparatory work, and all the staging choices, starting with the sequences of approach to the great Cartone, are designed to prepare the public for the vision of a work that retains – intact – in itself an admirable conjunction of meanings, being at the same time a finished work and yet destined to prepare a concluding work.
