Sala 5 selezionato al RAM Film Festival

The documentary Sala 5 – Raphael’s Cartoon Room, a short film made by The Blink Fish (Executive Producer: Paolo Soravia; Shooting and Editing: Stefano Santamato) has been selected for the RAM film festival, which takes place in Rovereto from October 2-6, 2024.

The Fondazione Museo Civico has been organizing a Film Festival since 1990, since 2021 called RAM – Rovereto Archeologia Memorie, dedicated to archaeology and tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The Festival formula includes screenings, meetings, exhibitions, training courses, guided tours to discover the area and much more, in a contamination between knowledge, emotion and information.

The festival features documentaries, docu-fictions and animated shorts on archaeological research and tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The 2024 focus is titled “Glimpses on Migration” and is a spotlight on the small and large migrations of the past dictated by economies, wars, climate and environmental changes, with a specific lens on people on the move who have changed, influenced or blended cultures, traditions, architecture, and artistic expressions.

The Raphael’s Cartoon Room in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana in Milan is designed and built by Stefano Boeri Architetti.

The new room, open to the public from March 27, 2019, is conceived to house Raphael’s preparatory work, and all the staging choices, starting with the sequences of approach to the great Cartone, are designed to prepare the public for the vision of a work that retains – intact – in itself an admirable conjunction of meanings, being at the same time a finished work and yet destined to prepare a concluding work.

Room 5 – Raphael’s Cartoon received a special mention at the RAM festival. The festival, for its thirty-fifth edition, returns to tell the story of archaeology and heritage through film, exploring, also for 2024, themes that link cultural heritage to the most topical emergencies, such as migration. The images accompany us inside Room 5 of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana which houses one of the most precious works of the collection, the preparatory drawing of the fresco ‘The School of Athens’ in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican. An exciting and intelligent tale of love and care for the artistic heritage, an emotional journey between art and architecture.
