On Friday, April 19th, the workshop “Questione di Sguardi” will take place at the Farm Cultural Park in Favara, as part of the proposal by the School of Architecture for Children (SOU) – an after-school workshop dedicated to architecture and active citizenship for children aged 7 to 12 – where Luis Pimentel from the Research Department of Stefano Boeri Architetti will participate.
The synopsis of the event: “Although we believe architecture belongs not only to us humans, all species from the smallest to the largest have a form of architecture that allows them to grow and live together. To understand how nature, of which we are only a small part, works, perhaps we should start to see and live like other species.
We will create small biodiverse universes. We will begin by creating masks that identify us with a specific species (bird, bear, flower, tree), following the practice of paper bag masks by Saul Steinberg, and then (still wearing the masks) imagine what a house, a square, or a school would be like where all these species live together.”
In this context, Luis Pimentel will also present the green projects of Stefano Boeri Architetti and the research and philosophy that fuels them – placing natural and animal components on the same level as architectural design.
