The weekend of 13 and 14 May sees the eighth edition of Open House Milano, an architecture festival inviting everyone to explore and learn about the architecture of their city and its history; the programme also includes the opening of the InfoPoint on the construction site of the New Policlinico of Milan, conceived by Boeri Studio (team leader, Stefano Boeri, Giovanni La Varra, Gianandrea Barreca) together with Techint S.p.a. (consortium leader), ABDArchitetti, B.T.C. S.r.l., C+S Associati, Labics, LAND S.r.l., TRT Trasporti e Territorio S.r.l.
A weekend of ‘open architecture’ to promote a concept of a city participated in by citizens, to foster dialogue between public and private, between citizenship and business, and to increase the sense of belonging to one’s own city, Open House divides the city according to the ancient criterion of the Sestieri: 6 areas that develop along the routes of the historic gates, from the centre to the periphery, to also discover the urban development of the city.
In this context, on Saturday 13 May from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. the InfoPoint will open to follow all the phases of construction. It has been set up as a veritable ‘permanent window’ on the construction site of the New Polyclinic, recounting its origins, history, behind-the-scenes events, and showing the progress of work in real time.
