Wednesday, November the 27th, laying the foundation stone for the Nuovo Policlinico of Milan, in view of the birth of the largest and most modern hospital in the heart of the city. The project, designed in an international and contemporary perspective, not only includes dedicated hospital spaces and care paths but also becomes a place with areas for relaxation and for living everyday life, with a pedestrian Gallery with services and commercial activities and a park unique in its kind, which is a true urban “green lung”, as big as the Duomo of Milan.
The Roof Garden, commissioned by Boeri Studio, is conceived as a collective space of different colors and essences, and welcomes trees and shrubs of various sizes, becoming one of the main Urban Forestry projects planned for the Lombard main city. Meditation areas are flanked by play areas, vegetable gardens intended for medicinal plants, patios and small covered pavilions, conceived as places for special entertainment initiatives for patients, operators and even for the external public.
