The former President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi, opened MIPIM 2025, one of the leading international real estate events. As part of the event, the 39 finalists for the MIPIM Awards 2025 included the Wonderwoods project by Stefano Boeri Architetti and MVSA Architects in the centre of Utrecht in the Best Mixed-Use Project category.
The complex, consisting of two towers connected by a pedestrian bridge on the lower floors, engages in a dialogue with the urban environment both through a ground floor open to the public and through a vertical development that harmonises with the proportions of the surrounding urban block. In particular, Wonderwoods Vertical Forest, which integrates residential areas with offices, fitness and yoga studios, bicycle parking and public and recreational spaces, is proposed as a new wellness centre in the centre of Utrecht.
The project is a model of mixité of activities and functions. In fact, the base of the tower houses an articulated system of duplex residences capable of combining residential and studio spaces with receptive and commercial environments distributed up to the fifth floor.
The Wonderwoods Vertical Forest tower represents a declination of the Vertical Forest. At 105 metres high, it houses around 200 apartments of different types and for different users: mainly young professionals, workers and families.
