From 12th to 15th October Politecnico di Milano has hosted an annual International Festival of Architecture MI/ARCH. The initiative of Prof. Stefano Boeri to invite the best practicing architects to discuss the issues of contemporary architecture in a few years has become a relevant event for the city of Milan. For MI/ARCH 2016 has been chosen a topic of interaction between architecture and engineering, such archistars as Kazuyo Sejima, Benedetta Tagliabue, Mario Cucinella and many others have been invited to talk about 40 Constructions.
Besides these auditorium lectures, the students of Politecnico and anyone interested have had a chance to participate in a “field study” during this edition of Festival in a collateral event called VESPARCH. This year a tour around architectural attractions of Milan was focused on the dismissed Railway yards and has been guided by Stefano Boeri, Cino Zucchi and Azzurra Muzzonigro.
