On Thursday, February 8th, at 7:00 PM, the presentation of the book “L’architettura ha tante anime, Conversazioni (Architecture Has Many Souls, Conversations)” by Stefano Bucci takes place at the Triennale di Milano, featuring a dialogue with the author and Stefano Boeri.
From A for Adjaye to Z for Zucchi: the dreams, emotions, projects, and passions of the archistars recounted over the years by Stefano Bucci in a volume published by Alemanni (2023). Thirty-four interviews – conducted by the author for the “Corriere della Sera” – form an uninterrupted narrative spanning 200 pages, where one dialogue after another adds up, creating a collective portrait of contemporary architecture.
It begins with Guido Canali, encountered in his studio in Parma in May 2004, and concludes in May 2023 with Lesley Lokko, curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023. The title of each chapter is an invitation to read, revealing insights, ambitions, philosophies, and policies of individual architects: architecture defeats time for Tadao Ando; it is a vertical forest for Stefano Boeri, to whom a chapter is dedicated; it is a theater, it is “building peoples, not just cities” for Yovonne Farrel and Sally McNamara, and it is “Europe, an open city” for Renzo Piano.
A long itinerary of meetings took place on important occasions, such as the case of Zaha Hadid, interviewed in Milan in 2004 immediately after receiving the news of being awarded the Pritzker Prize, the Nobel of architecture, for the first time to a woman.
Walter Mariotti, Domus Executive Editorial Director, will moderate the event, with readings by Anna Nogara.
