On June 1st and 2nd, the second edition of the Green Future Conference is held in Split, Croatia, featuring international speakers in the fields of environment, energy and sustainable development, including Lucrezia De Marco, head of the Communication Department at Stefano Boeri Architetti.
The Green Future Conference aims to provide an opportunity to discover what it means to undertake an ecological transition, how technology can help and what mechanisms are available to achieve it.
The conference hosts more than 50 speakers including international technology leaders, companies, institutions, policy makers, scientists and other stakeholders interested in sustainable development.
On Thursday, 1 June, Lucrezia De Marco participates with a speech entitled Green Obsession, presenting the philosophy behind all of Stefano Boeri Architetti’s green projects, from vertical forests to projects with lower density, all united by an integration of living nature as an active part of the architectural project.
The title of the intervention is taken from the book of the same name, Green Obsession, Trees Towards Cities, Humans Towards Forests (ed. Actar, 2022), whose objective is to reveal the processes and complexity involved in the search for a new type of urbanism, raising questions and opening up new scenarios on the relationship between the human species and living Nature. Green Obsession proposes an alternative way forward, a paradigm shift to give voice to the ecological transition. It is essential to act together as members of the global community with a shared strategy: we need to conceive cities as green catalysts, to open the era of a new alliance between nature and the city.
