Expo Milano 2015 will be different. It will be the first Expo to be conceived during a major global economic crisis with greater awareness of the threats of Climate Change and the challenges of world poverty and famine. This concept masterplan has been designed to link the theme ‘Feeding the Planet Energy for Life’ to the scheme, generating new experiences for visitors and exhibitors alike. This concept masterplan has been designed to link the theme ‘Feeding the Planet Energy for Life’ to the scheme, generating new experiences for visitors and exhibitors alike.People from all over the world – up to 29 million – will be able to see, touch and taste the products of the earth in a great living garden that challenges our assumptions about food production and consumption. All aspects of the project – from the use of solar energy and water, to biodegradable materials and green transport – will be designed to cohere with the core objectives of the 2015 Expo theme. Like nature itself, the Expo site will change over time laying the foundations for a flexible and sustainable development, establishing a cultural and physical legacy for the whole of Milan and its global community. Expo 2015 will become a very special place for Milan; a place of great beauty and serenity that connects the natural to the man-made in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
