On April 20, Stefano Boeri participates in the Grand Opening of the EFI Biocities Facility and “Cities in the Age of Forests,” organized by the European Forest Institute (EFI) at the Sala Protomoteca, Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome.
In this context, a panel discussion entitled Challenges and opportunities for cities and the role of forests is scheduled at 10:50 a.m., featuring Stefano Boeri, with a talk focused on the benefits and implementation strategies of urban forestation, along with recent projects by Stefano Boeri Architetti, including Parco Italia.
Also participating in the panel Rossella Ravagli, Giorgio Armani SPA – Sustainable fashion; Yvonne Lynch, Royal Commission for Riyhad City; and Sandra Frank, Co-founder of Arvet – Cities made of wood. Gesche Schifferdecker of EFI will moderate.
The EFI Biocities Facility aims to create an informed dialogue on how trees, forests and wood can help rethink our cities so that they can lead the transformation to a climate-friendly economy. The Biocities Facility works across scientific disciplines and actors to connect knowledge to action and transform the way we create and live in cities.
