Scheduled for September 23-27, the Vertical Forest (Boeri Studio) is presented at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) International Conference in London on Wednesday, September 25.
Given the rapid transformations and issues on a global scale, the CTBUH 2024 International Conference is a key event for all those concerned with the future of cities.
This year’s International Conference complements the annual CTBUH Awards program, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment. Projects, innovations and practices are awarded in more than 20 categories and subcategories, including best tall building, urban habitat, innovation, repositioning, construction and structure. Winners in each Award of Excellence category present their projects to an international audience and live juries; overall category winners are then selected during the event and awards are presented during the highly anticipated dinner and ceremony.
The Vertical Forest, winner of the Award of Excellence, joins the other finalist projects in the 10 Year Award category, a category that recognizes the value and performance of tall building projects over time. This award provides an opportunity to reflect on tall buildings that have been completed and operational for a decade.
The recognition given to the Vertical Forest is a further testament to the value and importance of this iconic structure in the landscape of contemporary architecture. Its innovative concept and its ability to integrate nature into the urban context make it an example of excellence in the field of sustainability and ecological design.
