Stefano Boeri a Critica del progetto

On Tuesday, July 9th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, in the inner courtyard of the Castello del Valentino in Turin, the latest two books from the 2024 Donzelli series “Critica del progetto” will be presented with a dialogue between Stefano Boeri and Paola Viganò.

The event features interventions by Paola Viganò, author of “Il Giardino Biopolitico. Spazi vite e transizione,” and Alberto Ferlenga, author of “Architettura. La differenza italiana.”

Following the institutional greetings by Stefano Corgnati, Rector of the Politecnico di Torino, and the introduction by Cristina Bianchetti, Professor at the Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning-DIST, Politecnico di Torino, Stefano Boeri dialogues with Paola Viganò about “Il Giardino Biopolitico” (2023). This will be followed by a discussion between Carmen Andriani and Alberto Ferlenga on “Architettura. La differenza italiana” (2023).

The hypothesis of ecological and social transition as a new biopolitical project places this book in a broad conceptual framework, clarifying the renewed centrality of life in any research on the future of space at various scales. The book discusses ways in which its project can contribute to shaping an affirmative biopolitical action, one of substantial emancipation; it considers space as a collective capital, an essential agent for adapting our lives to profoundly changed conditions. Beyond the ecological crisis and the new awareness accompanying it, Paola Viganò sheds light on the complex relationship between space and life, between bodies, populations, space, and power; its centrality in the present and future urban project.
