In this long interview with Corriere della Sera, Stefano Boeri speaks about the role which wood might have in modern architecture and buildings. Boeri points out the main features of wood in construction, such as flexibility, lightness and versatility.
A change in approaching construction philosophy has to be set in Italy and Boeri says that the country would need a “Ministry of Wood“, remembering the role that wood has in Stefano Boeri Architetti’s projects, such as “Amate Amatrice“. This project aims to build up the new school refectory and the food court in the town of Central Italy which had been destroyed by the earthquake in the last August.
