On November 20 and 21, promoted by Stefano Boeri Architetti, with the participation of the Municipality of Milan, Things, Apicoltura Veca and CasciNet, the Collaborative Design Workshop for the European project HeritACT is held at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti – NABA in Milan.
HeritACT, a project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program, which sees the involvement of Stefano Boeri Architetti’s Research Department in the development of an innovative framework for the co-production of highly innovative public space installations as well as the implementation roadmap for the pilot project, introduces innovative and inclusive architectural and design solutions as well as artistic and cultural practices to support environmental and cultural sustainability and the strengthening of cultural industries through community outreach and policy-making in European urban areas of different scales and cultural settings.
During the two-day workshop, students, divided into groups, imagine The New Ecological Scenarios for Milan’s urban farmsteads, specifically Cascina Linterno and CasciNet – Cascina Sant’Ambrogio.
Students focus on six key elements: co-recognition, to recognize and enhance the historical and environmental heritage of farmsteads; function, to redefine the roles and uses of spaces; (co)design, to imagine shared and participatory solutions; (co)construction, to imagine new interventions; communication/engagement, to involve local communities; and maintenance/governance.
