From April 15 to 28, the Campania Region is organizing Campania Architettura – Festival for Plural Territories, which features the presentation of the Coastal Masterplan for South Salerno project, conceived by Stefano Boeri Architects and Società Cooperativa MATE, together with StudioSilva and F Tourism & Marketing.
The project envisages intervention in eight municipalities (Salerno, Pontecagnano-Faiano, Bellizzi, Battipaglia, Eboli, Capaccio-Paestum, Agropoli and Castellabate), covering a total of 478 square kilometers, in an area characterized by a strong historical and naturalistic imprint thanks to the presence of archaeological sites-such as Paestum and Pontecagnano-as well as areas of environmental value, such as the Cilento Park and the Sele Plain.
The preliminary project aims to environmentally and touristically revitalize the stretch between Salerno and Castellabate, with a structure characterized by seven main objectives starting with five general themes: mobility, energy, environment, urban regeneration and tourism. In this way, through eight projects-system, the Masterplan strategy sets new landscape standards for a general improvement in the quality of life, working both on the potential of the built environment and on new environmental implementations: from the reactivation of the ecological networks of the coastal landscape to the introduction of new sustainable mobility networks, from the redevelopment of agricultural supply chains and the urban fabric to the use of renewable sources to make the area self-sufficient.
The festival aims to promote and experiment with a new and open idea of architectural design that integrates the needs of places with community practices, helping to co-construct deeply sustainable futures.
This also includes the digital exhibition of the South Salerno Coastal Masterplan project, posted here: https://www.annaliarchitettura.it/masterplan-programma-integrato-di-valorizzazione-del-litorale-salerno-sud/
