Ca’ delle Alzaie, the project by Stefano Boeri Architetti in Treviso, has received the Architizer A+Award Special Mention in the category Multi Housing Unit – Mid Rise (5-15 floors), in the context of the Architizer A+Awards 2023.
The eleventh edition of the Architizer A+Awards rewards international architectural projects that have distinguished themselves in the various categories, divided by function and size, but united by the character of innovation.
The Ca’ delle Alzaie project was selected with a special mention in the residential category; the project consists of three residential buildings spread over approximately 8,000 square metres, covered by vegetation: Ca’ delle Alzaie is home to 400 low-trunk plants and 170 trees, 120 of which on the façades, in continuity with the surrounding park.
Facing the river Sile, the buildings include 7 above-ground storeys – for a total height of 27 m – and a basement plate for the garages, transformed into a large green area on the roof; along the western side of the lot, moreover, a pedestrian path connects the complex to Viale IV Novembre, guaranteeing visual continuity towards the river. The planimetric distribution of the volumes allows each residential unit to fully enjoy the relationship with the river landscape: placed next to each other, the three buildings form a discontinuous front, in which each body is arranged according to a different rotation to optimise exposure towards the south and reduce reciprocal introspection. In this way, in addition to guaranteeing a high level of privacy for the interiors, a “visual barrier” effect is avoided, leaving wide perspective glimpses free between one body and the other towards the passage along the Alzaia.
