On Designboom a long interview with Petra Blaisse, founder and designer of inside outside, partner of Stefano Boeri Architetti in the design of the Polcevera Park and the Red Circle in Genoa. With a career that began in the field of exhibition design, Petra Blaisse is renowned for having worked in various areas related to interior design, landscape, gardens and large-scale public spaces. With an attentive site-specific study, the inside outside project for the Polcevera Park pays close attention to the history of the place and its territorial and social memory. Through teamwork, the international designer talks about the creation of a botanical park below the construction site of the new Genoa Bridge by Renzo Piano, underlined by the pedestrian and cycle infrastructure designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti’s team and known as the Red Circle, able to unite both the sides of the Polcevera valley, generating spaces dedicated to sport and leisure, welcoming many plants of different native species typical of the Mediterranean scrub. Fruit trees, nuts and olive trees among the 43 different species, in memory of the victims of the tragedy of the Morandi Bridge.
