China is one of the countries with the highest level of pollution in the world, put it’s taking the way of a new greener and sustainable style of living.
Stefano Boeri Architetti designed Liuzhou Forest City, that will be built in the north Liuzhou in China, and it’s the first city able to fight pollution. In fact, the urban settlement will host almost 40.000 trees and almost 1 million plants of over 100 species, it will be able to absorb 10.000 tons of CO2 and 57 tons of pollutants per year and produce 900 tons of oxygen. Liuzhou Forest City will be completely energy self-sufficient, thanks to the use of renewable sources, and will increase the growth of local biodiversity.
“This is the first experiment of the urban environment that’s really trying to find a balance with nature” said the architect Stefano Boeri.
