On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 11:30 AM, on the occasion of the Festa del Perdono, the event The Green Road to… the New Policlinico of Milan takes place. The event includes the presentation of the Green on the Ground project among the pavilions of the New Policlinico Hospital, designed by Boeri Studio, along with the planting of the first trees.
The event is held at the construction site of the new Padiglione Sforza and features speeches by Stefano Boeri; Marco Giachetti, President of the Policlinico of Milan; Matteo Stocco, General Director of the Policlinico of Milan; and Andreas Kipar, CEO of LAND Srl. Also attending: Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan; Marina Brambilla, Rector of the University of Milan; and Mons. Mario Delpini, Archbishop of Milan.
Located in the historic center of Milan, the Policlinico is one of the city’s main hospitals: a true healthcare citadel where various services are housed in separate buildings connected by mostly outdoor pathways. While preserving part of its original pavilion structure, the project for the New Policlinico Hospital introduces a large central facility, the Central Building, which integrates medical-surgical and maternal-infant departments.
On its rooftop, a lush hanging garden of over 7,000 square meters is planned, initially reserved for patients and hospital staff. In the future, it may also be opened to the public for special recreational and therapeutic events.
