Wonderwoods, the project realised in the heart of Utrecht by Stefano Boeri Architetti and MVSA Architects, is the winner of the MIPIM Awards 2025 in the category Best Mixed Use Project.
The complex, consisting of two towers connected by a pedestrian bridge to the lower floors, engages in a dialogue with the urban environment both through a ground floor open to the public and through a vertical development that harmonises with the proportions of the surrounding urban block. In particular, Wonderwoods Vertical Forest, which integrates residential areas with offices, fitness and yoga studios, bicycle parking and public and recreational spaces, is proposed as a new wellness centre in the centre of Utrecht.
In terms of the functional mix, the basement houses bicycle parking and public spaces on the ground floor, while the upper floors house offices, fitness and yoga studios, as well as an articulated system of duplex residences combining residential and studio space. On the seventh floor, indoor and outdoor dining spaces animate the connecting bridge between the two buildings, characterised by hanging gardens and sweeping views of the city.
