Presentazione Bosco Verticale a New York

Tuesday, March 18 at 6 PM at Rizzoli Bookstore in New York, the presentation of Bosco Verticale, Morphology of a Vertical Forest takes place—a comprehensive monograph dedicated to the project on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its inauguration.

The event features a conversation between Stefano Boeri and Francesca Cesa Bianchi, partner at Stefano Boeri Architetti, preceded by an institutional greeting from Fabrizio Di Michele, Consul General of Italy in New York.

Published by Rizzoli New York and curated by Stefano Boeri Architetti, the book retraces the history of the project with an editorial structure that evokes the growth of a tree—its roots, trunk, and branches. The roots represent the inception of an innovative idea, inspired by creative and artistic influences. The trunk corresponds to the project’s genesis, the structural, technological, and environmental challenges faced, the construction process, and the impact of Bosco Verticale on the transformation of its surroundings and the urban landscape. The branches, finally, symbolize the life of the Vertical Forest: on one hand, its role in international architecture as a paradigm shift toward integrating living nature into urban environments, and on the other, its evolution as an autonomous symbol and catalyst of biodiversity, even within the collective popular imagination.

The book features contributions from internationally renowned authors and scholars (Beatriz Colomina, Emanuele Coccia, Paul Hawken, Vittorio Lingiardi, Manuel Orazi, Matilda van den Bosch, James Wines), accompanied by drawings and sketches, original illustrations by comic artist Enrico Pinto, and photographs of the building across different seasons and years, from its construction to the present (Laura Cionci, Elisa Galluzzo, Dimitar Harizanov, Giovanni Nardi, Paolo Rosselli), including an exclusive photo portfolio by Iwan Baan, created specifically for this publication.
