The Municipality of Martis is taking part in the European Mobility Week (EMW), by organising an event from 12 to 14 December 2024, in which Stefano Boeri will participate.
The European Mobility Week is an opportunity and a showcase to activate a process of improving urban mobility towards environmental sustainability combined with local economic growth and quality of life in cities.
On this occasion, the Municipality of Martis – the only Sardinian municipality participating in the EMW and the smallest among the 153 Italian municipalities involved – wants to raise awareness and highlight three themes: regional models of sustainable urban regeneration, new models of sustainable mobility, analysis of regional case studies and comparisons with national and international cases.
Special attention will be given to the local railway network, which has a significant history and future potential, despite the fact that today it is destined for an “uncertain future”. Participation in the Week aims to reactivate this railway line, which is fundamental to combating depopulation and promoting the ‘social defibrillation’ of northern Sardinia.
On Friday 13th December, Stefano Boeri will be presenting “Experiences of Urban Sustainability in Italy” at the Centro Polivalente ‘Vincenzo Migaleddu’ (Martis, Sardinia).
