The group led by MATE Soc. Coop.va, with Stefano Boeri Architetti, Eurac Research, StudioSilva S.r.l, TRT TRASPORTI E TERRITORIO SRL, Prof. Arch. Stefano Stanghellini, won the public tender for the Municipal Development Plan for the Territory and Landscape of Bolzano.
In the context of the growing challenges related to the ecological and energy transition of cities, the plan put out by the Municipality of Bolzano intends to pursue a number of strategic objectives, including: the sustainable development of urban structures, the enhancement of public spaces and landscape and the expansion of green spaces within the municipal territory; the strengthening of urban infrastructure, with the optimization of public services and mobility together with a responsible use of resources and better use of land and buildings; and last but not least, the limitation of the effects of climate change
As clarified by Mayor Renzo Caramaschi and Deputy Mayor and City Planning Councillor Stephan Konder, the Municipal Development Plan is a key guiding tool for the decisions of the municipal administration for the next 10 years and, as required by the relevant legislation, will be binding for the subsequent drafting of the new Municipal Land and Landscape Plan, what used to be called: “Municipal Urban Plan.”
