festival delle città

From October 2nd to 4th, Rome hosts the Festival delle Città, an event in which mayors and local administrators, both Italian and abroad, discuss the future of Italy with institutions and politicians. On the final day of the festival, Stefano Boeri gives a lectio in the Sala Matteotti of Villa Altieri.

Three days of meetings and debates, more than 200 mayors, more than 60 guests from the world of politics, institutions, business, culture and society, in the beautiful setting of Villa Altieri in Rome.

The themes of the Festival delle Città focus on the economic situation of the country and Europe, differentiated autonomy, but also sustainable growth, infrastructure, technological innovation, and culture.

The list of mayors and presidents of provinces and regions, representatives of the Italian Parliament, journalists and personalities from the world of culture and civil society who are taking part in the Festival is extensive.

Stefano Boeri, on October 4, gives a lecture in Matteotti Hall entitled “ Towards an Archipelago City.” The image of the archipelago city recalls the need to strengthen the functional self-sufficiency of the “islands” that compose it: each is different, yet each participates in the same system of relationships. At the same time, this image emphasizes the importance of a common identity, a “sea,” in this case formed by the corridors of ecological biodiversity.
