The publishing house Actar has released the book The Right to Nature – for a new urban landscape by Emanuele Bortolotti, Paolo Palmulli, and Alessandro Frigerio, featuring a contribution by Stefano Boeri.
The book focuses on the work of the AG&P greenscape studio, centered on the current and renewed relationship between humans and nature. AG&P greenscape collaborated with Stefano Boeri Architetti on the landscape design for Bosconavigli, a residential complex designed together with Arassociati in the San Cristoforo neighborhood in Milan, a junction between the city and the fluvial territory of the Ticino River and the Alzaia del Naviglio di Porta Ticinese.
Stefano Boeri’s contribution addresses specific questions and characteristics of the project, highlighting aspects of sustainability and urban reforestation. On one hand, Bosconavigli features 170 trees from 60 different species, alongside shrubs and climbing plants arranged on the facades, rooftops, hanging gardens, balconies, and loggias. On the other hand, the project is set within a green system with public pathways: surrounding the building is a 3,500 sqm park for condominium use, which includes facilities for sports and recreational activities, as well as the redevelopment of a public area covering over 7,800 sqm and the future Linear Park along the route of the disused railway.
